The Good Hands Handyman Nonprofit Organization, Inc. (GHHNO) is offering several “Need Based Scholarships” that will be awarded and applied to the tuition for the next upcoming class at Handyman Training School starting in March 2019. Scholarships will be applied last. We offer in-house payment plans.

Scholarship Eligibility for GHHNO Need-Based Scholarships

Funding is available only to citizens that are permanent residents of the United States who are potential students of the Handyman Training School. Recipients must be willing to participate in our Good Hands Handyman Non-Profit Give Back Program. Prospective students must submit a completed scholarship application and complete the program application by the published deadlines. Scholarship applications from all qualified students will be considered. However, preference will be given to applicants who fulfill one or more of the following criteria:

  • Demonstrated financial need

  • Low income according to the poverty guidelines 

  • Unemployed for 6 months or more

  • Single woman between the ages of 16 to 21 that is unemployed

  • Single parent (male or female) with one or more children 

  • Youth aging out of foster care or will age out of foster care within the next two years 

  • Persons that have had a “record” or negative experience with the law 

  • Person that has been turned down due to arrest records 

  • Persons reentering society

Potential candidates will also need to answer three short questions. 

Application Process for Need-Based Scholarships

To be considered for a Need-Based Scholarship, please submit the required documents by the appropriate deadline. A complete application includes the following:

  • Scholarship Application Questionnaire

  • Students must be able and willing to meet the financial obligations. The Scholarship is applied last, after all payments are made

  • Students must sign the commitment form and acknowledge that they are required to provide a minimal of 8 hours of service to a senior homeowner in the areas of painting, drywall repair and Installation.
